BOISE, ID (CBS2) — It is Computer Science Education Week in Idaho! Earlier this month, Governor Brad Little declared Dec. 4-10 as Computer Science Education Week!
To celebrate, students at Riverside Elementary spent Wednesday coding with help from Timberline High School C.S. students, Idaho STEM Action Center, the Idaho STEM Ecosystem, and 30 industry partners from throughout the Treasure Valley.
According to the STEM Action Center, schools and organizations across the state are staging at least 83 Hour of Code events this week among more than 24,000 worldwide in over 180 countries.
Considered the largest learning event in history, Hour of Code is a global movement Code.org founded in 2013 that offers one-hour introductions to computer science and the basics of coding.
