Dick Van Dyke is an American actor, comedian, writer, singer, dancer, and producer. He is known for his roles on television’s The Dick Van Dyke Show, Diagnosis: Murder, and Murder 101, and in the films Bye Bye Birdie, What a Way to Go!, Mary Poppins, Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N., Divorce American Style, Fitzwilly, Never a Dull Moment, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Some Kind of a Nut, The Comic, Cold Turkey, Dick Tracy, Curious George, Night at the Museum, and Buttons: A Christmas Tale, among many other works, including prominent stage performances.
Dick is the son of Hazel Victoria (McCord) and Loren Wayne “Cookie” Van Dyke. His brother was actor Jerry Van Dyke. Dick is married to Arlene Silver. He has four children, including actor Barry Van Dyke, with his former wife Margie Willett. His grandson is actor and filmmaker Shane Van Dyke. His niece was actress and adult film performer Kelly Jean Van Dyke.
