MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Meridian Canine Rescue said it has to move out by the end of March and has less than two weeks to raise money for a down payment
The nonprofit says it was $10,000 short, and in less than 48 hours, an online campaign raised over $39,200.
"You all came through for us, and we couldn't be more grateful. We plan to use the money we’ve raised so far to make the down payment on a new location," another Facebook post says, "Our work will continue, and our dogs will have a home."
Meridian Canine Rescue will now focus on adding secure fencing to the property once moved in so the fundraising campaign will continue through March 18. The goal was updated to include the $29,000 fencing estimate.
