It looks like the people behind Southern Charm have about had it with the controversy around Thomas Ravenel and his former nanny, and the lawsuit for the case.
They have recently reportedly requested to be freed of any involvement in the lawsuit by the court, and have pointed out that the nanny has signed various legal documents related to her appearance on the show.
To that end, they claim to have no legal involvement in the ongoing proceedings and want to get the situation out of their hair for good.
According to the legal documents, any issues have to be resolved through arbitration in New York, which is not where the case is currently taking place.
This is one of the reasons for the requested dismissal and the main one.
The nanny in question, Dawn Ledwell, claims that the producers have significantly manipulated events on the show’s set to misrepresent her in a negative way, and have additionally not provided enough security for the people involved in the production.
Also, she alleges that plot lines of the show have been modified in order to focus on themes that were not there originally, further adding to her negative representation.
The lawsuit is still ongoing, with plenty of unknowns surrounding it.
Fans of the show remain divided over the situation as well, with some claiming that there might be more to the incident than observers see right now and that people should refrain from being too judgmental.
Moreover, while the case has already had its impact on the show’s production, it looks like the producers are about done with all of that.
Amid the custody with his ex, Kathryn Calhoun Dennis, fans are not sure what to make of all this.
One of them wrote: “Thomas loves those kids bottom line. I think he has bad moments, but I truly don’t believe he took it to that level. Kathryn is the mother and I’m sure even Thomas would agree amidst all this drama show should be the one until its all cleared up. I love them both and wish them the best.”
Here is how Dennis felt about his arrest: “I just left the doctor with Thomas and Saint, which was awkward. It was really, really weird. I think he’s in denial or something. He didn’t even call me. You would think [he would say], ‘Just want to let you know I was arrested this morning, but the kids are fine.’ ”
