Trish Stratus is currently on a run that is getting a lot of acclaim from the fans. She is a regular on Monday Night Raw and has been wrestling very frequently for the first time in years. Her attire for these matches has been a combination of new attire and an ode to the iconic old attire she wore during her first run in the company.
Recently, Stratus took to Twitter to thank the person behind the costumes, which is none other than Mikaze. Mikaze a.k.a Sarath Ton is also the husband of former WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks, now known as Mercedes Mone. In her tweet thanking Ton, Trish wrote, “Thanks Sarath, I love this gear… Being in Winnipeg, it had a little nod to Canada and was a modernized version of some of my old gear styles.”
Stratus also appreciated the fact that the entire incident was last-minute. She further wrote, “Loved how it came together—and rather last-minute too, but it came out absolutely perfect. You’re a total pro.” Sarath is the costume designer for the female wrestlers on the main roster. He has designed costumes for Ruby Soho, Seth Rollins, Tamina Snuka, and many others.
Ton married Mone seven years ago. The two met initially in 2010, which was before either of them worked in WWE. Further, Mone started working in WWE only a few years later, while Ton started working in WWE around 2015. He is now the go-to guy for the main roster when anyone needs to design a costume.
Details about Mercedes Mone’s husband, Mikaze
Mikaze, or Sarath Ton, is a retired professional wrestler who now works as a costume designer for the wrestlers in WWE. Most notably, he designs costumes for his wife, f.k.a. Sasha Banks, along with the likes of Seth Rollins, Tamina Snuka, Summer Rae, etc. Ton was a wrestler who worked in WWE while also working in promotions like ROH, NWA, and a brief stint in Impact Wrestling.
He made his debut in WWE as a wrestler in 2012 on Raw as Rutherford Hayes, where he debuted in the ring against Ryback. However, unfortunately, Hayes could not go any further in his career. This is because he suffered a blow to the head, giving him a concussion. This forced him to retire from wrestling as it threatened permanent damage to his brain.
However, the 40-year-old continued to associate with the industry as he decided to design costumes for the wrestlers. He started doing that in 2015 and became a trusted and reliable person backstage for many WWE Superstars.
